Today I want to share with you some facts about Norway.
I am currently back in Oslo to live and work. Being back after a few years in UK, I am learning more about this amazing country.

Even during my studies I looked at Nordic design and lifestyle. During my dissertation, I even looked at Norway's development status and how factors such as health, economy, politics and sciences have an impact on the design industry.

Well if you didn't know:

+ Norway is the world's happiest country according to the Legatum Institute Prosperity Index. I believe the great preservation of nature plays it's part.
+ Norway is probably the most expensive country in the world. According to latest surveys, Oslo ranks first on the top most expensive cities in the world and also in 3rd position is Stavanger (3rd biggest city in Norway).

+ Norway is finally the 4th richest country in the world thanks to North sea oil and good governance! You can now understand how the statements above are dependant on this last one.

Anyway, design in Norway is well developed and is expanding in all directions. I will focus on the housing situation and give you examples of how design is integrated in Norwegian society, especially in peoples homes.

Please notice the high standard of common houses that are on the market for sale.

I assure you these are not renders! heheh

These were all apartments. Now houses are on a different level and of course price range!!

From modern to traditional, the interior remains of high quality.

Amazing views

So this is more of a mansion than a house!

I love that it blends in with the landscape

The play on high and low ceilings make for an interesting atmosphere in the house!

And lets not forget light through the windows and doors. By the way the images above and below this text are from the master bedroom!! This is bigger than most people's living room!!!!

There is a gym of course.

And a swimming pool!

As that is not enough there is a wine cellar!!!!!

How rich are these people! and why are they selling ??

Hehehe! nice play on materials throughout the house and "field" meaning the garden.

This is one of my favourite on the market.
Look how modern this yellow house is!

Old meets New

Neutral with injections of Colours

Finally a Bright, Neat office for all the inspiration to flow!
